Midnight Minuet

This is Minnie. She is a very nervous mare and always alert for possible danger. Here, she has just heard something. She will relax in a minute and continue grazing, but it won’t be long before her head will come up again.

I bought her in May last year. At the time, I was looking for a small horse or a pony for my daughter, or possibly one we could share. I had lost my own horse earlier that year, and I didn’t feel quite ready for a new horse yet. I was told that there was a nice mare for sale not too far away from me, an excellent jumper, and since she had been for sale for a while I might be able to get a good deal. My daughter didn’t like the photograph in the advertisement, but I felt we should go and look at her anyway.

When I saw her, she was in a small stable. She turned her head to look at me, I looked into her eyes, her right eye has a white ring around the iris, but it was her expression. My daughter liked her too, so I bought her.
